366::366

here we are, 366 of 366 ! it's been fun along the way but i shan't be sorry to see the last of those dull winter weekdays when nothing much seemed a likely photographic subject. a HAPPY NEW YEAR to all our avid fans!

Sunday 30 December 2012

365::366

the last table-top shot of the year.
can't believe it's almost over ...
no more scouting round the house at half past ten at night,
no more cries of 'oh my god! i haven't taken a photo!',
no more lugging of cameras here, there and everywhere.
it's amazing to look back and see how much has happened this year.
tomorrow had better be a good'un ...

364::366

waiting for the ferry at cowes

363::366

my christmas mosey to quay arts.
sat and watched a video of a tree for about 15 minutes.
felt depressed and went home.

362::366

friday night.
back to a pub we hadn't been to in so long,
it felt like going back in time.

361::366

finally, a break in the rain.
two long walks,
and i spent nearly the whole day outdoors.
perfect.

360::366

the weather has been so shoddy this december
that i'm rapidly running out of indoor shots.

359::366

christmas day;
a strange holiday this year,
everyone coming and going.

358::366

357::366

the other beast.

356::366

the beast.

365::366

the machine age ..... this represents the long lost "monday" photo that i never posted, making 365 of 366 photos ...... yes, just one more to go folks!

364::366

there are endless visually fun things to see in brighton's lanes - cakes won today

Saturday 29 December 2012

363::366

Friday 28 December 2012

362::366

st martin's tea room - THE most wonderful ye olde tea room in chichester, on several floors of an ancient building

357::360

happened to encounter this fine vehicle parked opposite the Co-op on Sunday!

Saturday 22 December 2012

356::366

this car was parked right behind my mine......... thankfully i didn't have lumps of subaru embedded in my boot

355::366

no tricks, just exactly what was visible out of the bedroom window

354::366

after all this time i found another critter today hiding in the gold frame. how long has this been here???

Friday 21 December 2012

355::366

the winter solstice.
the turning point in the year,
and this afternoon there was a blue sky and a bit of sunshine.
that must be a good omen, right?

354::366

another view from under my umbrella.
leicester square, in the rain.

353::366

so we have both succombed to the winter bug.
i don't know how i made it through a day at work today.
all i wanted was to be at home under this blanket.

352::366

the annual staff party. costumes galore.

351::366

we walked through the vineyard this afternoon.
from the top of the valley there was this amazing hazy view right into the distance.

350::366

the sky in itself was like a landscape today.

Tuesday 18 December 2012

353::366

no, i didn't visit Tate Modern today, but on the way to collect my car from its service, i took some more pictures of boat hulls on the quay .......

352::366

i liked the idea of a limited colour palette

Sunday 16 December 2012

351::366

out come the xmas baubles ........

350::360

stopped by appuldurcombe - was rather a dull afternon, but i love the way the house reveals itself amongst the trees

349::366

was back at Freshwater today - this time the wind howled and the sea was crashing against the rocks

348::366

sandown bay early thursday morning

347::366

had to delve to reveal today's picture .....

346::366

had a meeting at dimbola on tuesday - in the bay the sky was blue, the sea like a millpond and not a person in sight

345::366

i love old trees

344::366

i'm trying to take a leaf out of helen's book and not look at the whole picture

349::366

colourful chillies during our friday night pudding run to morrison's.
i think we have discovered the world's best cheesecake.
oh my.

348::366

we brought our little christmas tree in from the garden today,
complete with about 500 living residents.
every now and then i catch sight of one scuttling across the floor.
the tree has sprouted new green shoots like little fingers,
and looks pretty comical.

347::366

we're in the deep freeze.
our heating and hot water haven't been working properly for two weeks.
it's so cold that you can see your breath in the house,
and you don't even have to refrigerate food any more because the room is cold enough already.
in fact, we have been considering leaving the fridge door open to warm the place up a bit.
on my walk to work this morning, the hedges were covered in icy spiders' webs.
it was as if they had been decorated with silver tinsel ready for christmas.

346::366

i had to be at tate for 8.30am this morning.
i walked over via westminster bridge.
everything was icy cold, and the sky was a little pink.
i love seeing those puffs of steam coming from all the office buildings on cold days like this;
it's like they are alive and breathing.

345::366

so. the great Wrapping of the Presents has begun.
i do enjoy it, in small doses.

344::366

there are few things in this world as good as home-made bread.
it's so satisfying to MAKE something with your hands,
to create something from scratch.
it requires the same rough handling as clay,
the same energy to work the ingredients,
except unlike pottery you get to eat the results.
i think i want to quit my job and re-train as a baker.

Saturday 8 December 2012

343::366

we spent the afternoon christmas shopping in guildford.
above all the bags and bows and hats and scarves, this amazing soft pink sky stretched into the distance.

342::366

the dreaded christmas card mailing.
all that repetition.
i am so glad it only comes round once a year.

341::366

i'm in a black and white mood this week.

340::366

we opened the curtains and everything was white.
but it didn't last long ...

339::366

hello, my name is tracey.
i live in the british museum.
i've been feeling quite stressed lately,
as i have so much christmas shopping to do
and it's been so busy
that i haven't had chance to get myself organised.
to make matters worse,
i've been given this new stand which i have to balance on
and it's really uncomfortable.
i mean, i like the look of it, i think it's really smart,
but i get such terrible cramps at the end of the day.
my boss has been really brilliant about it
and has offered to let me try a spare one next week.
